Born and raised in Togo, Amen taught himself to play guitar on an instrument that was passed from one home to another in his village Against all odds, Amen has fulfilled his vision of becoming an internationally renowned guitarist, travelling the world to play with artists including Keziah Jones, the Black Eyed Peas, Akua Naru and Lisa Simone. Amen is the artistic driver behind this documentary. He conceived of making the album and had the foresight to ensure the process was recorded each step of the way.

Laurent is a graduate of the Centre de Formation de Journalistes de Paris and the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel and works regularly for French broadcasters TF1, France 3 and M6. Hugh Phily is a valued fixture of the European television landscape, in demand as Director of Photography at France 5, France O, TF1, France 3, Arte and the BBC. He is currently working on the Arte series 'Aventure en Terre Animale'.
Julia holds a PhD in Media and Communication and, prior to relocating to France, was a senior executive at the Australian Film Commission and Screen Australia (2004-2008). She is a graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School and has produced and directed numerous documentaries - for SBS Television, Film Australia and AFI Distribution. Julia is co-founder of the Coproduction Research Network.
